Workshop Tours
in France, Portugal
and Europe

We curate private and group workshop tours in France, Portugal and Europe. We open the doors of furniture makers, specialty artisans, and emerging craftsmen — and brief each maker on your project, your level, and your questions before you arrive. You leave with the right contacts, rare references, and the inspiration to create truly unique pieces.

Our Approach

Behind the Scenes — How We Prepare Each Workshop Visit

Every workshop tour is prepared in advance. We identify the right makers for your brief, then brief each one on your project, your level, and your questions — so the time spent on site is dense, useful, and inspiring. You are not just visiting a workshop. You are in front of the right artisan, asking the right questions, building a real relationship.

You leave with contacts, references, and a clearer vision of what you want to create.

Beyond the workshops, we also take care of the full experience. Local restaurant recommendations, cultural visits, and immersion in the country's craft heritage — so every tour is as enriching as it is inspiring.

Past Tours

Where We've Been — Past Workshop Tours and Visits

A selection of private and group procurement tours organized by Studio Ziricote — from Parisian decorative artisans to the furniture workshops of Porto.

Porto — Workshop Visits

During two intensive tours in the Porto region, one of the largest furniture manufacturing clusters in the world, we visited 22 furniture workshops.

These visits provided a deep understanding of Portuguese furniture making and showcased a wide range of savoir-faire for high-end residential projects.

We explored workshops specializing in wood, marble, brass and cast bronze, upholstery, fiberglass, liquid finishes, and mixed-material furniture. A comprehensive view of local craft and production techniques for both luxury and budget-friendly projects.

Paris — Finishes for Millwork Design

With two English designers, we visited 10 decorative artisans in Parisian workshops. We explored specialty finishes for master dressing rooms, kitchens, and bespoke millwork.

Straw marquetry, traditional lacquer with gold, mother-of-pearl and eggshell, pewter countertops, mica, feather marquetry, parchment, shagreen, upholstery, leaded and églomisé glass, engraved and gilded glass, and brass components. The tour included a meeting with a renowned artist specialized in decorative painting.

Paris — Private Procurement Tour

Accompanying an English client, we toured six millwork workshops. These workshops specialize in luxury residential projects across the USA, Switzerland, and Asia. During the visits, we explored French boiseries, interior doors, master dressing rooms, kitchens, and complex architectural millwork.

Paris — Artisans d'Excellence Exhibition

With two English designers, we explored the Artisans d'Excellence exhibition. Forty-five decorative artisans showcased their craft. Our focus was on creators whose savoir-faire applies to millwork and wall paneling. We discovered marble marquetry, gilded décors, hand-embroidered panels, glass marquetry, leather applications, feather marquetry, lacquer with eggshell, sandblasted glass, and heliogravure.

Nantes — Millworker Visits

With an English client, we visited six millwork workshops. These workshops work on prestigious projects, including private residences, super-yachts, five-star hotels, and luxury retail spaces.
